I'll always remember the red leather seats on the busses of the day. A bag of chips with a pickled onion from Soaves the chippy in Lochee was a treat to end any day out.

I've so many good memories of old Dundee, and Lochee in particular.

Thank you so much for allowing me to share these with you.
Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05213794223815605570noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1164384391105890729.post-86972176745623362272019-04-02T19:53:38.117+01:002019-04-02T19:53:38.117+01:00Although only born in 1959, I have great memories ...Although only born in 1959, I have great memories of Liff Road Primary school, and Frankie Davies ice cream shop across the road. At the end of term in the summer, our teacher would send us across to get ice cream cones for everyone in the class - a fine treat indeed. I have to say that I miss old Lochee, and the memories of my childhood. Somehow whenever I pass through today, it saddens me just how little of my past remains. No school - instead a Police station. No Frankie Davies - I know he moved to the other end of Lochee when the tenement was to be knocked down, but after the son sold the place - the ice cream that I had grown up to love died - never to be enjoyed again.. Your blog has made me smile - and remember the good old days. Thank you.
